I have been playing 1-3NLHE at Wynn, Bellagio, etc. and notice the games break down into generally two categories – let’s call them nitty and strong. I am not really enjoying the nitty games as they are generally filled with older regs and tourists who just call to see flops, very rarely 3-bet (even with QQ+), etc. Hard to win any real money. Boring. Find myself taking down many small pots pre- or immediately post-flop with raises and C-bets, then getting snapped off for larger pots with unrepresented monsters, or flushes that nits luck into. Any suggestions for how to maximize profits in this type of 1-3 game?
Alternatively, as in yesterday afternoon at Wynn, there are a few of the above suspects at the table coupled with 2-4 young players who play the more aggressive, Upswing.com style. The large majority of hands are raised and\or 3-bet before the flop and post-flop play is equally aggressive. Any suggestions of strategy in this type of 1-3 game?
Thanks….
