A new table had just opened up. Again, I don’t know anyone except for one guy at the table. The table had been playing very tight for about 40 minutes. The villain in this hand was the same villain in part 1 of 4. I took a very weird line here trying to bluff him off his hand. I looked like an idiot doing it too.
Idiot hand: 86o
Idiot stack: 300
Idiot position: BTN
villain Hand: AKs
villain stack: 500
villain position: SB
Preflop:
Limps 5 ways to the villain, villain raises to 20, only idiot calls on the button
Flop: 5c 6d Ah
villain bets 20, idiot raises to 50, villain calls
Turn: 10s
villain checks, idiot checks
River: Ac
villain checks, idiot bets 80, villain calls
I think this hand set the tone of my image at the table. I limp called in position, which I actually do not hate.
When villain bet 20 on the flop, I thought this was a betting tell. I didn’t account that it was about 1/2 pot after the rake. So like an idiot, I wanted to rep a strong hand, such as two pair on the flop when it was my turn to act. He tanked for half a minute and called. When he called, I thought “oh shit.”
I decided to abort on the turn, but…….when the Ace came. I convinced myself that its not likely he’s holding an ace. I go for it again on the river and just got schooled.
