Playing 5 handed in 1/2 no limit. I’m on the button with about $350.
PRE FLOP:
Utg ($500 eff.) raises to $12 fold to me on the button. I have 10♣️ 8♥️ normally I would fold this but in position and so short handed I elect to call, sb ($200) calls bb folds and we’re off to the flop.
FLOP: Q♠️ 8♦️ 6♥️
Sb checks, utg puts out a c-bet of $20. I have played with this gentleman before solid player not afraid to bet with air, and pretty aggressive overall. I decide to flat call expecting the sb to come along as well, since he is bad reg with a propensity to bluff and call down very light. Sb does call and now I’m looking to make a play on the turn.
TURN: 9♥️
Sb check, utg now checks and sets up the scenario I was looking for. Trying not to make it seem too fishy (like a bluff since I’m not sure if I’m ahead at this point) I bet $25 into $98. Probably could have sized up a little here but I was trying to make this look more for value than anything else. Sb who as I mentioned calls down light quite often and bluffs regularly calls utg folds.

Sb checks over to me, I am fairly certain the only real way I’m winning this hand is to fire again here, sp I do for $45. He folds take this one down and am happy to not have to go to showdown.
My only real question here is if my bet sizing seems ok, although any commentary/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.If I’m correct you’re betting 45 into 148 on the river. Given the image of the SB you described, calling really light and all, I think this is way to cheap, he is always going to call with a better 8 for instance, or even a lucky 9. You got lucky here, I think he just folded a missdraw like AT or something. So given the profile I would have sized it up here, between 80 and a hundred !
Preflop, I’d prefer a 3bet or fold, but short-handed a flat call probably won’t get you into too much trouble.
Post-flop, your hand might be a bit too strong to turn into a bluff, especially on the turn. You’re not likely to fold out many hands stronger than yours for that sizing, and you block a lot of draws when you have a 10 in your hand. Also, you’d hate to face a sizable raise with a hand that has both immediate showdown equity and a draw.
So I would either size up or check back.
