    Hello there
    Been playing today.
    Bought in for 200.
Got into a cooler (r/c pf w JJ, called short stack’s shove on baby flop and got shown QQ)
Dropped to 120, then I got that hand.

KK in LP (co or BTN)
Few limps ahead, I raise to 15, got 2 calls.
    Flop (~50)
    854dd
Chk to me, I bet 35, got one caller

(He told me he had a big hand. The most active player at the table, maybe he’s running hot, but I’d say he’s also good. I thought he had pair+draw, like 8xdd or 87, 86, 65, kinda hands…

    Turn (120)
    6s
He checks. Now, I thought if I wanted to bet (got 70 left) should be Allin or nothing. That card might improve the range I was giving him, I thought I would get called by straight or 2 pairs. Or he’d fold a weak pair, and maybe a fd. So I elected to check back, with the intension to let him bet a busted draw on the river. I was gonna call a bet on a lot of non-diamond river.

    River (120)
    4s (85464_no flush)
    Checked to me…

    Now I guess I should shove shouldn’t I?
I opted for the low variance route and checked back, with pretty much the same thinking I had on the turn : only getting called by better…

But I think I could’ve gotten some value vs 8x 86, 65… Plus, had I shove, he might have thougt that I’d missed my fd with 2 overs with diamonds (?)

I think you did miss a bit of value here. Only hand that beats you is a 7 or some weird full house, but given how small your shove would be compared to the pot you might get called down by an 8. There are a decent amount of 8’s in this limp-call range (even more if the 8 on the board isn’t a diamond), and his checking all three streets should be a sign of weakness unless he’s hell bent on trapping. He could be trapping with a hand like 87, but I think he’s probably going to bet that river after you check the flop back.

You’re hand looks very much like AK or two overs since most players are just jamming overpairs on the turn here. I think you should jam river. I think you’re getting more folds (from hands you beat anyways) and calls from 8’s than you are getting called from straights and better. Go for that value.

And there is some value in taking a hand down without showing how nitty you played a strong hand like KK on the turn and river.
