Hey guys I played a 1/2 session last night and wanted to get some opinions on some hands. For context for the first hand, I had ran into a mini-cooler with aces when my opponent flopped trip queens. That put my stack down to 125 when I get this hand.
I have pocket Jacks (JdJc) in the big blind and it limps 3 to me, I raise to 12. UTG (~500 stack) calls as does the button (~110 stack). Flop comes 10c 8c blank. I check, UTG checks and the button bets 25 with 80 behind. The button is a recreational player, younger guy and only sat down with a 100 in chips. That couple with him limp calling me, and my holding of the Jack of clubs made me think he wasn’t that strong. I raise all in for 116. I get snap called by the UTG player to my direct left, and the button tanks for a bit before calling all in. We all show, UTG has KQc and button has 37c. Turn comes 7 of spades, and river brings Jack of hearts.
I’m not sure of what the best play is given my small stack size and facing what I thought was an exploitable bet from a weaker player. Feedback into thought process would be helpful here.Next hand I have AdKs UTG (~350) in a straddle pot, I raise to 16. UTG+1 (~400) calls and UTG+2 (~100) calls. Flop comes Kh 8s 10s. I lead here for 45. UTG+1 mini-tanks before folding and UTG+2 quickly folds behind. It feels like I sized this bet incorrectly and perhaps missed value.
Final hand I have A5c on the button (~400). It’s a straddle pot limped 2 to the High Jack (~130) who bets 12. I call and the BB call. Flop comes KQc blank. I check the BB checks HJ bets 20. I reraise to 55. BB folds and the HJ calls. Turn comes Qs and the HJ checks, I check behind. River comes Kd and the HJ checks to me. HJ has ~85 behind at this point, and I don’t have much show down value in this spot, so I bet 100. HJ eventually folds, claims she had open ended draw, for what thats worth.
Thank you guys and feedback would be appreciated.

So you hold the Jack of clubs is actually bad for you in the sense that the villains have less flush draws in their range. When you block a potential draw, that’s bad for you since your villains will have less draws and more value hands. It’s not as relevant in this hand since you still have the overpair, but that’s how it works.
But in this hand, I don’t think I could ever fold an overpair on that wet of a board for $120.
Hand 2: Huge bet on the flop. You have a strong hand – top pair top kicker and backdoor flush and straight draws. You’re basically betting pot. If you’re just trying to fold out draws then this is okay, but you want to get some more value for your strong hands, even if you open yourself up to getting drawn out on. I would probably bet 1/2 – 2/3 pot here.
Hand 3: You actually have a lot of value here. Ace kicker on this board is really good. KKQQx means everyone has a minimum of 2 pair. Only hands that beat you are Kx, Qx, and whatever pocket pair makes bottom boat. You’re not getting worse to call here, so you’re definitely turning your hand into a bluff, but I don’t think you’re getting better to fold. No one should have a K or Q here, but some people like to slowplay monsters. I probably just check back here and take the pot at showdown.

2nd hand: You want to bet half pot. I would have bet 25 there.
1st hand: I would have lead the bet 100%. Jacks are vulnerable there and you want to protect and get value from flush and straight draws. Probably would have played out the same way… Still.
As played with your check I believe the jam was the correct play at that point.
Seems that hand played out quite well none the less.
Well done! -
