Hey guys! Glad to see the forum is back up and running. These hands are from a less than 1 hour session 2 weeks ago where I lost $500 in 2 hands. 1-3 btw
Hand 1:
$200 effective I have $300 and villain has $200. MP and CO limps. I have KcKh and open to $21 and CO is the only caller.
Flop comes Jd5h7h I lead for $40 and CO snap calls. I’m thinking he’s on a heart draw most likely.
Turn is Ad and I check. CO thinks for a short while and bets $75. I think for quite some time… I have little info on the villain except that he stacked off with 3rd nut flush a few hands ago against what I thought was an obvious nut flush. In this situation I should probably fold but my read was that he was semi-bluffing some sort of draw. My mistake was not putting him on a range of hands I think… I go ahead and shove all in over the top and the villain tanks before finally calling.
River is the 3d and I turn over my kings. Villain shows KQ of diamonds for the nut flush. I think I definitely over played this hand… what do you guys think?
Hand 2: effective stacks $300
EP and MP limp before HJ (same villain as before) opens to $15. I’m on the button with 9c7c and flat. EP folds and MP calls.
Flop is 6c8c10d MP checks and HJ bets $50. I think for a little bit and as I reach for chips I hear the dealer say “wait sir” I look up and see MP has already put out the call…. now I was going to raise but I got greedy and didn’t want to scare anyone away. I flat call and so does MP.
Turn is the 4h and both players check to me. I think for a little bit and there’s no reason to give either of them a free card and I only have around $230 left and the pot is almost $200. Again I go all in… MP snap calls and HJ (last hands villain) goes deep into the tank. He goes so deep that he actually apologizes after awhile. Eventually he calls.
River Jc I turn over my now 9 high flush MP shows 8-6 for 2 pair and villain turns over Ac10c for the nut flush…. I leave disgusted that I was there for 57 minutes and played 3 hands and lost $500.
I think I over played the first hand and got really unlucky on the second hand. Any advice is appreciated… still pretty twisted by the outcome.

He made a terrible near-pot-size call on the flop with nothing. Had you put him on an A and you went all in after the turn, then that’s overplaying it. Don’t beat yourself up over this one.
2 – You could fold this hand. But when you didn’t, I don’t think your play is bad here. Sounds like even had you gone all in on the flop, you probably would have gotten called by the AcTc anyways. You hit your straight and had the strt-flush draw so you weren’t going anywhere either. Another bad outcome.keep grinding
