Hey Guys/Girls,
Check out the following hands and any input/feedback would be helpful.
Hand #1 – Tough lay down but good read.
He showed his QJ at the end of the hand

Tilted after Aces cracked. Should have sized differently.

Aces cracked a second time. Called it quits after this one.

Normally I would also count 99+ and AJs kind of hands, but with your 5x open and his min raise he is basically screaming strength, he is obviously looking to get called. imo it’s a really bad play from your opponent to 3-bet a hand like QJ there, and he just got lucky on the flop. Your fold is good, but putting him on a “normal” 3-bet range ( I don’t know if you knew the opponent playing style, if he 3-bets wide or tight…) you only beat AK here, and you have a blocker to that. Think most likely after the bet/bet on flop and turn I would have him ( considering our holding aswell) on JJ or AA, so I think making the fold there is kind of a must. Never easy folding top pair second kicker, good diciplined move by you
Hand #2:
pre flop: Nothing wrong so far, can’t see anything going different there. Think the sizing is good as well, maybe could have gone with a bit bigger assuming it’s the same table as Hand 1 and opponents like to 3-bet light, but play is fine imo
flop: good flop to bet on for you. I like the sizing. 35 into a 50 pot gives your opponent a EV- price to call he has 18% to hit his flush on the turn and we charge him around 30% I think. Also getting value from a 10 or even an 8 in the BB. the call from the limper with his gut shot is questionable, since he only has 3 clean outs, he’s not getting the right price to call but okay, can’t see anything wrong on your behalf here.
tunr: you bet 75 on the turn in a 155 pot. I think this is too small, but the bet sizing is a bit akward with what you have left. I think jamming could be fine, they might have floated some King hgih’s which you beat, only losing to something like K10 of spades. Think you should jam or check here, even if it is an overbet. now you give the flush draw a good price to continue ( we can assume at least one of them has some kind of flush draw) + there is extra value in getting some calls by Kj, Kq…
river. Flush comes in, good check by you, you got the ace blocker to the flush, but I think at least one of them must have spades after they both float the flop.
I don’t think a jam on the turn would have made him fold the K2, but I think that is a more EV+ play then betting small
hand #3:just some bad luck. think your stack size leaves you no room to do anything else there.
