    Hello to all!

My name is Max and I’m 27. Total beginner here; I started playing poker very briefly a few years ago online, (Just play money) and realized very quickly that I didn’t understand the fundamentals of the game. About 3 months ago after being enamored by the poker room at Graton Casino in Rohnert Park California, and after months and months of watching Brad’s vlog, I decided to make it a mission to understand the ins and outs of the game from the bottom up.

I’ve played an actual cash game only once, (1/3 NL at Graton) and after leaving and almost doubling my buy-in amount I decided to chalk it up to luck and really start studying, instead of losing it all just as quickly as I got it.

My goals are (try not to laugh)

-Understand “poker language/ phrases” (It’s another language for me, even after watching countless vlogs. Don’t get it twisted though, I can sit down and play a game of poker!)
-learn how to read a board and recognize possible draws relating to my hand at a higher rate of speed
-Develop better skills in the game of NL Hold em’ all around in order to play for real chips in real poker rooms.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY- Meet people and develop new relationships! Brad’s vlogs are super in depth and inciteful so I’m hoping and guessing that his fans are on that same tip.

To summarize, I’m new to the game and really just looking for a friendly community to develop into a good player.

Thanks for taking the time to read and I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can:)

    Hey Max

Welcome to the boards and the poker community at large. Been playing myself since I was 17…20 years later I am still learning and the game has evolved tremendously since I started playing.

Is a pretty good basic learning site that I would recommend someone new learning from. You can learn anything from the lingo to basic recommendations for starting hands etc…

    Good luck to you

    Cheers
