Not sure how your 2-5 game is or the player in question. Which could impact my thoughts a lot. But assuming you have a winning image and haven’t been caught doing anything crazy if I was your opponent I could likely get away on the river from AK, or a flush.
They could have had any number of things with that line. A small pocket pair, AQ,AJ, a heart draw that got there etc. However, on a double paired board, following a check raise on the turn and lead out on the river even if I had the Ace high flush I fold to a competent player in that spot. Granted some variables could come into play. If the player making the check raise lead out has shown big bluffing tendency’s I might look up light. The question is what is worse that calls your river bet? The check raise shows a lot of strength on the turn and then to lead out almost guaranteed you have a 7 or an 8.
I like the check raise on the turn to try and make people pay for draws. However, keeping in mind how strong that is on the river I likely check the river and try to get them to bluff or thin value bet me if they made the flush once I boated. I don’t feel a competent player is going to call me light there enough to make my bet worth it.
