Could I have played this hand better?

I have AcJs in mp in 1/2 and raise to 12. Only hijack calls. Our effective stacks are $200. Flop QcQs7c. I bet 10. He calls. Turn Jh. I bet 20. He raises to 40. I call. River Qh. I lead for 50 planning to likely fold to a jam. He thinks for a bit and then folds. Afterwards, he said he had air and woud’ve bet 70 had I checked. I took a somewhat interesting line here and was just curious what you guys had to say about the hand.

Check call is better because of this exact situation. You fold out his bluffs with a bet. He could jam the river with a lower pocket pair thinking he is good. But probably wouldn’t jam Id you check.
