$1/2 I’m on btn $430 starting As/8s two mp limpers I raise to $10 SB 3b to $20 first mp raises all in for $38 second mp calls back to me I tank fold SB calls board runs out Ks,8h,6s. SB bets $60 mp calls turn 3d. SB goes all in for $300ish mp call for less $240ish and river 3s giving me folded nut flush. SB wins entire pot with AKo. I just feel with so much pre flop betting I’m way behind begging for flush. Thoughts? Thx in advance

PF, A8s on the btn behind 2 limps, i like the spot for a raise yeah, but (well, depends on your game’s standard betsizes) but i would’ve gone somewhere around 12-15.
Then SB’s min 3bet doesn’t mean much, it would be worth a call IP imo.Now the mp limp/shove concerns me a bit, he gets called, even tho you’d get good odds, I would fold, we’re gonna be dominated, and in multiway, i guess we got something like 12-ish percent equity.
You would have make the nut flush on the river, but you have to look at your equity at the moment you had the decision, and in that case, yeah, I’d say it’s a good fold.

Yeah sometimes there are hands we’d wanna play but end up folding pre because it is the right decision, and post flop our card(s) come and it’s kinda tough, but when that happens, I try to think about the decision, my equity at the moment I had to make it, and it often is a good decision (was dominated or something)

Essentially 2.5x-3x the money in the pot. I don’t mind it if you go 4x depending on the table. This way when you get there limp/shove for $38 it’s not much more for me. Although, even as played, I’m calling pre-flop everytime. It’s $28 into a pot of almost $100. Also, if a player has only $38 in front of them and they are open limping then shoving I’m going to assume they’re a pretty terrible player. Usually, I fear that move from someone who is winning and has a solid stack.
This now gives you the ability to raise the flop with your flush draw and pick up some dead money or it allows you a free river card as your opponent will likely check turn to a solid flop raise in position.
Just my thoughts on another way to play the hand.
