Hey guys,
I’m a poker player from the UK. Playing £1/£1 blinds. And what happened is probably one of my worst bad beats I have ever had and could not get any worse.
I have Pocket 99s in late position. There is a very aggressive player UTG who bets quite often and did some questionable plays, and a passive nit that folds to any 3-bet. I bought in for the max of £250. UTG raises £6, and the nit in Late position flats, I squeeze in the High Jack and raise to £26.
Both of the players call.Flop Comes 9s8s5c
(*Flop is definitely rather favourable)
ShareMyPair: http://www.sharemypair.com/smpweb/smpviewdetails/feed_id/32639I bet £50 into £80, the aggressive opponent calls and to my surprise, the passive nit shoves all in. I re-shove for obvious reasons and the aggressive opponent folds.
Turn is an 8d, I turn my hand over right away, no intention to slow roll my opponent and maintain a good poker etiquette. At this point I’m a 95% favourite, I’m thinking of Vegas and the mirage, and to my disgusting suprise….
River is King of clubs.
My opponent shows pocket Kings and wins with a higher fullhouse. Obvious this guy tried to trap and it clearly didn’t pay out for him, until he got lucky on the river. My dreams are crushed, Vegas and the mirage is no more. I Phill Hellmuth rant at the table about how disgusting the run out was and I almost get thrown out by security staff. Unsurprisingly, I’m too tilted to play so I just get up and leave the table and the casino. What do you think guys? Was that the right decision preflop depending on the situation or was there any other way I could of done that differently?
Whats the worst bad beat you’ve ever had?
Cheers all
