ParticipantLooking for feedback as to how I played…. i know I should’ve raised the flop with 2 pair and no blockers to a diamond draw but villain was betting/calling loose so I let him do that for me. If the guy is betting with essentially air since all he had was a gutshot, he’s not folding to a raise or shove I don’t think, he bet with the Worst Hand prior to this one too, and caught a set on the turn with an 8 he was betting into an all diamond board with no 8 of diamonds…. thoughts?

ParticipantI think the big thing here is how short you are to start the hand. The call pre-flop is really loose, when you hit chances are you’re outkicked.
With that much money in there, I probably jam flop. With his $15 and your $15, you only have about one pot size bet left, and there decent money in there to win.
It sucks when you flop a big hand and win nothing, but they have to have something good to put money in the pot. You’re not getting a flush draw to fold for that price, but most guys will fold a gut-shot if you go all-in there. He’s continuing because that’s what most people do when they raise, especially when the flop has high cards. You probably win with a jam, but that’s just a bad run of cards.

Chuck MParticipantHey there
I agree with John. That was a loose call pf, especially offsuit. At least you got position on the villain… there’s a lot of players behind tho, but since they limped, I guess they won’t 3bet. If so, it’s an easy fold.
I would also raised the flop. I can understand the flat ; I guess you were hoping another player to stick there with Ax or a draw. But with that stack size, the flop is drawy enough to get value when you shove. Either from a flush draw or a broadway draw. Plus, what would be villain’s iso raise range from the SB? We can expect some Ax, Kx, and broadway cards, I think you’re way ahead of his range (yeah, sometime he’ll have AK, but that’s a cooler)… you’re ahead, and imo there’s good chances he’d call off, so it would’ve been a nice spot to shove.
Too bad he hit his card, that’s a cooler, you were ahead with ~85% equity
