Can we ever call here? Is he ever bluffing at this level? Specifically players at the Commerce…In my experience just don’t bluff very much…but is he ever bluffing here?
I think you are good here. Let’s replay the hand? Opens for $70 Is that table norm probably not 7x the big blind? Either a really big hand QQ’s or better or a 99’s or less. I say QQ’s or better. 2 callers Flop comes Q98 rainbow no flush draw but villian raises immediately when he gets led into by BB. NO flush draws, I know the straight and straight draws are out there but does villian call with pocket QQ’s here? Did he raise preflop this 99 or 88’s and flop a set? Not likely and if so why $70? (fishy) Anyway raised to $190 on caller. If he has a queen then he doesn’t put you on one so why fire $275 No Queen here probably checks when the 9 peels on the turn. If villian has a 9 then what single 9 does He have? A9 suited Or are you giving him Quads? (didn’t think So). Smells like KK’s or AA’s to me. Anyway river runs through it with the case Queen making it less likely he has a Queen. (Unless your giving him Quads again)(Didn’t think So!) So what pulled him from preflop til the river? 88’s or better? Ask yourself how much has everyone at the table been raising? 7x I doubt it. 88’s maybe he plays them this way? (doubt it) 99’s I would think he would give you the free card on the turn maybe maybe not but quads alone is not likely. You have JT so JJ’s and 10’s are not likely, QQ’s quads for real I seriously doubt it and Hero isn’t worried about those that leaves KK’s or AA’s and hero isn’t worried about those either. I pretty sure you are good here. But your not sure $900 is a big bet. Ask yourself this he raised preflop, what don’t I see on this Q989Q board? A’s/K’s/J’s/10’s Those are my thoughts, I make the call, But I’m not Phil Ivey!
