I’m playing the Monster Stack tournament at WSOP.
We just made the money, laterally the hand before, I have a stack of 125k and blinds are 1,500/3,000 with 500 ante. I’m in middle position and I minraise to 6,000 with KQ suited (clubs). Everybody fold and the Big Blind call.
Flop is JcJs2h. BB check I c-bet 7,000 and the BB now min raise to 14,000. Big Blind started with 120k stack and he is middle age gentleman. After taking 40 seconds I call, thinking that would be strange to raise with a Jacks and he might just paired the deuce (pot is 48k).
Turn is Kd giving me top pair. Now BB checks and I check behind with the intention to call any river bet and to not make the pot too big.
River is 7c and the gentleman shave all in pretty quickly (double size of the pot for a shave of 99k).
I go deep in the tank, trying to talk to the player but I don’t get any answer.
I was thinking he might got lucky with pocket 77 and got there on the river.
After taking my time, I folded but not sure if it was the right play.
Should I have folded or should I have called? Thanks Andrea

Spots like these are always super player dependent, personally, I would fold just because I doubt people are trying to bluff off their entire stack like this and because most of the time when people minraise they have some sort of showdown value and wouldn’t turn it into a bluff.

Theoretically, we’re at top of our range so should call but I doubt he’ll have a high enough/ balanced bluffing frequency.

Just to be nit-picky, I would c-bet smaller on such a dry board.
