Hey guys so I have a few hands I want to go over. A couple seem pretty straight forward, but still would like feedback on them if possible. So I will start with the simple ones.
I’m in the BB and look down at two black KK. The straddle is on the button for $5. MP player limps then folds to the button who makes it $15 and it folds to me. I put in the 3 bet to $45 and MP player folds. Button goes all in for about $75 more. I have him covered and obviously snap call. My starting stack was about $250 at this point. So heads up to the flop, where he shows pocket 10’s. Flop comes down 7,10,J. Turn Q, river 8. So I lose. Question is pretty simple. Could I have done anything different here? I don’t think so and just put it off to a little run bad. Let me know what you think.
2nd hand: I’m in UTG+2 and get pocket jacks. Button straddle is on again so I make it $15 to go. Folds around to button who sigh calls. My starting stack was $90 at this point. He had about $250 starting stack. Flop comes down pretty good for me with a 2c,4c,10s. Being that I’m first to act I just shove to charge him the maximum thinking he would fold. He says, “I know I’m behind” then calls for my last $75. He flips over Ad,Kc and turns an Ace and runs me down and I don’t improve on the river. Question is, should I have shoved here on the flop as played or should I have just bet like 3/4 pot? Could I have played it differently?
Last hand history that I’m really looking for feedback on: So the button straddle is on again and I’m in the BB starting stack $255. The table is a table where guys don’t like to fold and donk lead a lot. So I look down and have 7h,10d. I would normally fold this hand, but since I was in the BB and the SB called the $5 straddle I felt I was getting the right price to see the flop so I called. MP calls, next MP raises to $15, cut off calls, button calls, SB folds. I was getting 3 to 1 on a call so I just called as well. MP calls after me so we are going 5 ways to a flop. Pot is $80. Flop comes pretty favorable with 8d,Jc,9d. So I flop the straight. I check the flop. MP1 checks and pre-flop raiser bets 40, cuttoff calls, button calls, which somewhat had me excited! I make it $120 to go. Pre-flop raiser thinks then goes all-in for about $290 total. Cutoff folds as does button. I call. Turn is 3s, river pairs the board with 9h. So I get rivered for a full-house. My question is, what did I do wrong here? Could I have lost less or was the money always going in. I had him in the pocket 8 or 9 range and knew I was ahead on the flop, but should I have just called his $40 to see the turn or was it a could re-raise to $120?
Those were the 3 notable hands of the night, but I did get run down with pocket queens as well. Just seemed I kept getting it in good, but coming out on the losing end. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Hand 2: is $15 the standard open with a straddle on? that seems a smidge low to me. I think the only other thing might be to buy-in for more. You’re playing a bit short-stacked, so you’re options are really limited. Its a $33ish pot, so you could conceivable bet pot here and still have a 2/3 pot bet for the turn, but really if you bet at the flop you’re pot-committed. I think shoving is a fine option though. It’s a loose call from the button, but not necessarily bad (math says you’re a 2-1 favorite). I’m surprised he did’t raise his straddle with such a premium hand.
Hand 3: Fold that hand pre-flop. You’re really not getting great odds to call, and the only thing those hands do is screw you. Too much multi-way action. That being said, fantastic flop for you. checking to the aggressor is fine. Your check-raise sizing is too small though. there’s a bet of $40 with two callers, I think you should be raising to about $200 *EDIT* double-checked your stack size…shove here instead. Maybe will take it down here, which is also fine*EDIT* The rest plays out no differently though – the set is always going to bet and jam, and you’re going nowhere. So really, once that flop comes, you’re getting stacked 100%. If you just call the flop, think about that turn – the money would have gotten in then.
Seems like you had a rather unlucky night, but you often got the money in good. That’ll happen, although that doesn’t make it easier to stomach. I would gladly sit at that table though – lots of calling and over-valuing hands. Stick with it, make the right plays, and the odds will play out in your favor in the end.
Cheers & good luck!

Hand 1: Nothing you can do here, got it in good.
Hand 2: The shove is a bit much, but if you had raised less, he probably still would have called. I’m probably betting around 2/3 pot here ($20 or so). When he calls, that makes the pot 73, and you’ve got 65 left. The Ace is a bad card and he probably jams it if you check. Possible to get away from it here, but don’t fault yourself since he made a questionable play calling that down.
Hand 3: Definitely fold this pre. I know it seemed like a good price, but are you ever calling a raise to $15 with just $2 committed? Limping is usually not the best play, but sometimes it is right. Ask yourself, if you limp, are you willing to call a raise with this hand? Hands like this you often win a small pot or you can get in trouble in a bigger pot. Sure, the flop is just a cooler, but best to just fold this before you commit any money to the pot.
