I’ve been here playing 2/5 but it was evening of the Seniors tourney and I thought it might be a good time to play 1/3 on this busy Friday full of lots of soft play, while I waited for good time to do a single table sattelite.

The guy in seat 2 was raising and cbetting (and calling reraises) a lot so hard to know if he actually had anything but as noted in my share my pair post this was a bigger preflop raise than usual. However people had been calling his $15 bets so wasn’t sure if he was just trying to isolate more.

    Here’s the hand:

I forgot to note that he had about $300 stack (table starting max).
On the turn he was 22.7% and called $139 allin. Wondering what people think about my bet sizing and line.

I don’t think that hand ever plays out differently. People just aren’t folding a royal draw. You gave him a bad price to call, but there is a chance that an A or J wins the pot for him as well (if you’re raising pair + flush draw here).

My only critique would be to raise bigger on the flop. You only made it like 2.5x, so you’re giving him a really good price to call on a really wet board. Granted, a bigger raise wouldn’t have changed much here, just kind of general sizing advice. This hand was always going to play out like this. The only way you get him to fold is if you’re much much deeper when you jam.
