So if you guys watch the vlogs, you know these guys highly value their poker circles where they can talk about hands to get opinions on other lines of play and such. I know there is a thread here for hand discussion which is great, but not terribly conducive to real time conversations. That being said, I am wondering if there would be interest in making a text group with some of us off the felt folk? If you are interested, just comment below and once we have enough people I will PM all and start number exchanges. Here is my own poker bio what I am looking for.
I’m an east coast transplant, but I’ve been here in Vegas for a bit over 5 years. I have been playing cards for 11 or 12 years, but only really started to study the game about 7 or 8 years ago. I do not play full time (I do have a job working for the ‘Man’) but I play every week and I take the game as seriously (if not more) than some of my friends who are (or were) full time. I bank most my hours at 2-5 NLH, followed by 1-3 NHL & 1-2 NLH, and I am just starting to pick up steam on PLO. I rarely play tournaments anymore, but I think I should start to put some more effort into that too. For the last couple years I am averaging 8-10 BB/hr at 1-2 and 1-3, and 5-6 BB/hr at 2-5. PLO has been a roller coaster so far, and I am still paying tuition, but it’s still too small of a sample size to quantify properly.
I am looking for a group of 6 to 8 like minded people who have experience and play regularly such that we can bounce hands off of each other in real time (or close to). NLH + PLO would be ideal, or at least interested in learning both games. I don’t think location matters much, because poker hours are crazy anyway, but local would be cool if we ever see a good game live worth shouting out. I’d be interested in talking all things poker related from specific hand breakdowns to game theory to bankroll management questions etc etc.
I’d be interested in a text group. I live in Ohio, play 1/3 NL and daily MTT’S. Been playing for a long time but only taking it serious for about 4 years. I’m basically a break even player with a day job and family. No one in my circle of friends play so I pretty much learn on my own.
Also named Kevin but I’d be interested as well. I work full-time in Manhattan but play regularly online in New Jersey, and frequent casinos and home games. I’d consider myself semi-professional. I’ve been winning consistently at up to $2/$5 live and $1/$2 online (I’m a bankroll NIT), but obviously have tons more to learn about the game. Still, very few friends that take the game nearly as seriously as I do. The more the merrier as far as I’m concerned. Whats up guys!I’m a reg player at 1-2, at my poker room in st petersburg fl. None of my friends play poker enough to talk shop with them. So i would be super interested in getting a group to talk hands regularly. Get someone else’s point of view, so i can break the hands down better. I would love to talk about bank roll management etc. My goal this is year is to build my bankroll up to 20k if i can. Let me know if i can be add to the group. That would be awesome!
