Harrah's in Cherokee, NC

Hey folks. Have any of you ever been to the Harrah’s in Cherokee, NC? My brother and I are driving down to Jacksonvville, FL to spend Christmas at our cousin’s place, and we’re over-nighting there on the way down.

According to Bravo, they have a 1/2 game capped at 200 and a 2/5 game nominally capped at 1000, but which allows matching the biggest stack (which the 1/2 game apparently does not allow). It seems like the 1/2 game will play pretty small, while the 2/5 will play big. Doesn’t seem like there’s any middle ground. Wondering if anybody has experience with either of those games and can shed some light.

The 1/2 does max buy in for $200 but don’t mistake that for small play. I’ve seen plenty good sized pots at those tables, I’ve taken down a few that were over $600 myself. A handful of times I’ve seen people walk off those tables with over $1,000.

Now the 2/5 games on the other hand, people will bust and rebuy for $2,000 often. There’s one guy that I see up there frequently who usually sits down with $5k to play with. Plenty big action if that’s what you are looking for. 5/5 PLO gets pretty big action as well.
