Hello All,
My name is Chris, I am 28 and I am an avid player from Colorado Springs area. Have been playing poker since I was 14 and haven’t stopped. Played on and off through college for fun money and partying both online and live. Dropped off some after the poker d day. But gotten back into it. Playing a bit of 1/3 and 2/5 NLH. Also a bit of 2/2 and the occasional 5/5 PLO.
Definitely felt lost on 2+2 as many people have gone away from constructive and always seem that only a single line is +EV. Definitely want to find open discussion of many different lines depending on the situation and discuss general poker.
Also if anyone is in the area would be happy to go play some poker at the nearby casinos.
See you guys on the forums.

11/29/2017 at 8:27 pm #1992ChrisParticipantHey Steve. How’s it going man? Yeah I make it up to Blackhawk, usually the Ameristar. Haven’t gone much since moving back to Colorado because I was traveling for work. But now have a desk job.
I will be going there more often. I know of a few home games. At least of one nearly every nigbt of the week.
But that’s funny you ask. Just moved into my first house and building a poker room downstairs. Trying to put an auto shuffler in the table, chargers at each of the seats and then some Tv’s up. Just trying to make it feel like a casino environment as much as possible so I can try running a good home game so I don’t have to drive 1 to 2 hours for poker.
If your down we can go up to Blackhawk and catch some 1/2 or 2/5.
12/01/2017 at 3:35 pm #2022SteveParticipantOh wow! Your place sounds likes it’s going to be awesome. Yeah, next time you go up to BH text me. I’d like to meet you.
12/01/2017 at 3:53 pm #2023ChrisParticipantYeah for sure man. If there is a way to send a private message. Let me know and we can connect and try to go to Blackhawk.
Yeah I’m excited. Should be sick. So far I am almost done with the room. Gonna have to wait on shuffler since it’s gonna be nearly 1k. But still good place to play. Trying to run a game saturday.
02/05/2018 at 11:02 am #2400joseph aldersonParticipantHey Steve and Chris. I live in Denver and play a good bit in Black Hawk. I only play 1/2 right now. I’ve played a good amount of tournaments up there too. I’m curious, you guys ever play 2/5 at Ameristar?
02/05/2018 at 8:58 pm #2403ChrisParticipantI have played some 2/5 at the ameristar. It really depends on the day. Sometimes it’s a soft game and sometimes it’s filled with regs. Just really depends. The dynamic is still hindered though. The 100 cap just doesn’t leave much room to manuver.
02/05/2018 at 9:08 pm #2404joseph aldersonParticipantHey Chris. Thanks. You answered my question. I didn’t know if the 100 max bet applied to the 2/5 or 30/60 games. Guess I’ll stick with 1/2 for now.
You finish that poker room? Sounds pretty cool.
02/05/2018 at 9:16 pm #2405ChrisParticipantYeah it does. The 100 cap is all of Colorado gambling
Poker room turned out pretty good I think. Took me about a week to build the new tsble. I did it with a raised rail everywhere but in front of the dealer. I still need to figure out how I want to do the rope lights underneath the rail. That and cut the holes in my support table so the cup holders sit flush. But for now I think it looks great. Definitely feel accomplished. Then just odds and ends stuff to give it a good touch. Last thing is working with local artist to do a custom poker mural.

02/17/2018 at 3:09 pm #2453ChrisParticipantThanks Chuck. Came out pretty good. Actually just had a friend who is a local artist do a custom piece for me. Makes the room look dope.
02/26/2018 at 11:37 pm #2484DitzyBlondeParticipantHi Colorado folk,
I’m in Boulder. my BF and I go to Black Hawk every Sunday and I’ve been playing only 2/5 at Ameristar now since last September. I used to think it was better to stick to 1/2 due to the 100 max, but I’ve changed my mind. 2/5 has been much more consistent and profitable, and the rake plus higher variance at 1/2 there seems rougher to me. I’m always looking forward to playing outside CO though, for real NLH. (We used to have a great home game locally but it got shut down due to a robbery).
I have thought about posting hands but because of the 100 max not sure it totally fits into the NL section. Curious to try it and see what kind of feedback I get though.
Nice poker room Chris.02/27/2018 at 6:04 am #2485ChrisParticipantIt always good to post your hands for analysis and see what comes of it. It will be different because of the 100 cap. Especially for 2/5 when it’s starts hindering your sizingin 3bet pots. But no matter what analysis and talking about hands is good. I’ll respond to some of your posts for constructive purposes.
