Alrighty, quicker one here. Playing 1/2, effective stack is villain at $75 – which I did not notice until the turn. Older regular, very much a tight player. Villain is on my left
K10 of diamonds UTG. I open to 11. I get 4 callers.
Flop comes Ad7c4d. So nut flush draw for me, yay. checks to me, I bet $35. Pot size is 55 at this point, so I thought my sizing was fairly decent here. Villain calls, which surprises me. Again, he’s tight, so I assume he has an medium/strong A. Heads up to turn
Turn is Js. I check, he shoves relatively quickly with $27. That’s so small I have to call, although I know I’m currently behind.
River blanks hard (2h). He flips over AK offsuit for the win.
I don’t really think I have much poor play in this one. My opening range is a tad weak, and perhaps I could size up, but the table was playing right around the 10-15 open.
Flop I like my sizing. Turn I should normally go ahead and bet – I did not because I thought the villain had much more behind, and therefore I wanted some pot control against at least a top pair hand. obviously river has no strategy except for willing a diamond harder from the deck
Thoughts are appreciated!
