I playing 1-3 session and the table is starting to loosen up a bit with some light opens and 3 betting. I look down at Q9o on the button and action has folded around to me. I raise to 13, trying to steal the blinds, both blinds fold but I did not notice an MP player had limped in earlier. If i had noticed the limp I would most likely throw the hand away pre.

Pot – $30

Flop 10 7 4 rainbow

Villain checks and I check behind because villain has been check raising flops quite a bit and I did not want to be in a position to bet fold a hand with some equity.

Turn 9

Villain bets $25
I call $25

Pot – $80

River 4

Villain bets $55

I would like to know how others would have payed this hand and their thought process before I give the result. I appreciate any and all feedback.

I actually think i’d call… there may be some Ts in villains range, but lot of 2over combos too…
you say that you saw him c/r quite a lot, but do you know if he’d lead a top pair? Tx, T9?
at the same time, he might be checking cause you’re the aggressor and wants to leave you the lead of the hand for the moment.

When you check back flop, it might look like you missed and give up, so he might bet/bet AJ, KJ, 66 or 88 kind of hands (and I doubt there’s a lot of 4s in his range)

I think you got some showdown value, I might call…

Villain did lead many flops with both top pair good kicker and some of his draws. The only 4 in his range, I feel, would have been something like A4s or 54s. With that in mind, and getting around 2.5 to 1 on a call, I made the call and he mucked his cards immediately.
