I was in round 4 and ante’s had just started. The UTG was a agrofish and had shown multiple hands of very questionable nature and this would will not disapoint. He looks at his cards and calls all in. Folds to me in middle position and I check my cards. QQ. I have UTG covered. I look around and only the Button has be covered and he is a decent LAG honestly (could be a bad lag just running really well also) I decide to take a stab and shove my stack… Button calls. Heres where the fun starts.

    UTG J4o
    Hero QQ
    Button 77

cards come over and I feel awesome because No one has an over on me. 77 has a 12% chance of making a set and j4o…. what….

Flop JJ7….. %&&^&&*&*&*&$$# are you kidding me

Turn was trash so I have that didnt help anyone

    River… 7.

Have you ever sat there after a hand and questioned a correct call. I learned that people will call in bounties with hands they normally wont if they can felt you. That bounty does weird things to people.

Yes is the simple answer to your question. These type of events happen in tourneys and cash games frequently (more so maybe in bounties?). You have to remember, you win this with such frequency that you cannot focus on the times you don’t; otherwise, you will sabotage yourself with negative emotion or end up playing J4off trying to replicate the evil that has happened to you and then you lose to it and lose with it. Hopefully you will have better luck or better avoidance of bad luck next time.

I did another one after this. I paid closer attention to stack sizing behind me realizing people not clear the way for a head to head all in like normal MTTs. Made it to round 10 on that one before the deck went ice cold on me. Not even Bluff equity most the time. 45 min of 10th round ante and blinds ate me up. Ended up having to go All in with QJ suited. Person that called had me covered by alot and hit 2 of a kind. Happens
