Nasty Boat over boat… Did i play it wrong? Figured my hand was disguised and put seat 6 on either a flush draw or some sort of King X hand. Player has been playing pretty ABC poker. No real out of line plays or crazy moves. Is their any chance i don’t double this player up every time??

You hit a set on a draw heavy board and I think your opponent goes broke with a whole lot of lesser hands than a boat in that spot. Your opponent is so short, there should be very little to think about in that hand unless he exposed his cards. Now what I would want to do once I got to the flop would be to stop for a minute and think how can I get all the money in by the river. I would have lead every street so that my river bet put him all in. As played I certainly would have put him all in on the river too. I think that over all the hands your opponent could have in that spot and call (all the likely flushes and Kx hands) you will win the vast majority of those showdowns.

I checked the turn thinking i had the best hand at the time and seeing if i could get him to lead in with weaker hands, and draw hands that i was now beating. Trying to set a trap to get the most value on the river. Turns out i played myself!!

Playing 2/3 max buy in 200 at the gardens in california, the button with k7 clubs ,i have 300 behind, i raise to 15, sm and bb calls and a mid pos player, flop 7h 5h 2c, sm and bb check mid pos goes all in 75.00, i call, sm calls , bb goes all in having everyone covered, now im on a decision, what can he have , open ended straight and flush draw? Trips? Over pair? No raise pre so anything above 10’s i would rule out. I decide to say yolo and call. Bad call probably but i could get lucky. Sm says i played this bad and calls. The pot is 1k. Turn kh. Mid position guy stands up and cheers. River k. I have fh. Runner runner lol. I jump up and run around the table with my hands up like rocky lol. Sm has AA( no raise pre?). BB has QQ. (Again?). These guys were pissed for like 2 hours and i got another 500 off them before i had to leave. Was hilarious.

I would be more worried on the river with the jack because KJ is def in that range. However it can be hard to get away from when you turn a full house. He could Also be moving in with a flush therer which is what I would be hoping he had.

I agree with funknugget as I would bet all streets to get all his money in by the river, but with the villain’hand he was not folding no matter what would be your play here. It could end only one way unless you really give him credit for some K-J or 4-4 but for my part I think there is nothing you could do here that is a sick hand.
