My name is Tyler i just started playing poker againg last weekend at Ameristar Played a cash game before the tourny on sunday 1/3 NLH 300 max buy in. I endend up 500 + at my highest point. And cashed out 150+. I started not to play the tourny but a real nice guy i was playing said he thought i would do good…… ended up placeing 1st out of 33. Thinking i may try this poker thing out part time. Any thoughts?
Welcome back too the game.
I personally have only played in 4 tourneys.2 in a small casino the peppermill in wendover Nevada.both were about 30 or 40 people. Buy-in was small 50 bucks or less and only top 3 paid. I made top 3 both times and we agreed to chop both times.
I played a larger 130 buyin in tulalip Washington and busted early.
Same as Mississippi I paid 165 and busted early.
Premium hands that hit on flop both times.
So if it were me I’d target small low buy in tourneys.
That’s just based on my very small amount of experience
