I am getting back into playing (mostly NLH) and will likely start online as it is a more convenient than getting to a poker room (at least one hour away). I also don’t have a big bankroll (or can’t commit a large sum of money online); looking at starting with ~$100.

What are people’s thoughts are micro-limit ring games for both learning and building a bankroll slowly?
Likely starting at .05/.10 (I haven’t had success lower because the games don’t seem to have players that are really trying to play good poker). In terms of bankroll management, the limit-to-roll ratio is a bit high from what I have read (only 10 buy-ins) to play at that level, but my experience is that is the lowest level to get a real game.

Personally; especially nowadays if you can’t beat 1c/2c or 2c/5c, you’ll be asking for trouble if you started to play at 5c/10c or higher… unless for whatever reason you cannot play your A game at the lowest stakes but for some reason can slightly higher.

I used to play 50nl and some 100nl, briefly for a living some years ago… when I returned the “regulars” playing 1c/2c would play like the 25c/50c regulars used to some years previously… online poker especially as evolved where it isn’t as easy as it used to be, so to beat the game, at any limit, you need to be more professional and play a supperior strategy.

I’d suggest starting at 1c/2c and moving up when you feel confident and you are more comfortable with your bankroll. There is plenty to learn on the lowest stakes online, especially in todays tough climate for poker. I’m currently still playing 2c/5c on Poker Stars, where before I was preparing to take shots at $1/$2 online.

Focus on improving you yourself and your play and don’t worry about the limits you’re playing, just keep on improving imho.
