I usually play $1/3, as it’s most commonly offered at my local casino, but this Friday night there was interest in $2/5 with great action so I decided to shot-take.
Double straddle is on so playing very large ($2/5/10/20).
Folds around to the button, who calls the $20.
I’m in the SB with QcQs ($1,500 effective), and open to $85.
Double straddle calls and so does the button… these two players are the most competent players at the table and play a solid TAG (UTG+1) / LAG (button) strategy.
Flop comes 952 all hearts ($265)… notice that I have NO hearts.
I cbet with my over pair to $225; trying to push out any heart draws, and get smaller pairs to call.
UTG+1 calls and button folds.
Turn is 9d ($715).
I check and UTG+1 bets $350. I tank and decide on a call. My range is clearly capped at this point. I’d love your take on this turn call.
River is a Ts ($1415).
Clear check on the river. Evaluate based on his bet size. (Wish I would have taken this advice).
NOTE: he ended up having the flush with Qh4h.
I’d appreciate some feedback on this one.
