I’ve been playing for just over a year now and have noticed that most players fall into just a few categories. I was wondering if anyone has any other “types” they frequently encounter.

Old Man Coffee: Yes he’s old, yes he’s there and if he ever puts money in the pot you had better bring a big hand. He limp calls everything except KK or AA and is there anytime of the day.

Poker guy: He has the hoodie, headphones, shades everything. He bets a lot and almost never has the hand you expect him to.

The husband: Middle age guy who come to play cash for a while, plays almost any Ace and wants to play for a while but isn’t really interested in studying the game.

The bragger: Tries desperately to talk himself up by dropping names of pros and how he has either met/played with them or read their books, such as Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, etc. Feels the need to tell the table how he would have played any hand that goes to show down. He is generally younger, and his personal play is less than impressive.
