Hi, I played a hand in a 7$ fifty50. In this single table tournament it ends when 5 of 10 players are left.

We are on the bubble with 6 players left.
I’m in the big blind , blinds are 125, 250, 30 ante . I have got 2400 chips, the 3 players to my right have arch about 1000 chips. Utg folds and utg +1 with about 5000 chips raises to 3000. The 3 low stacks fold and I look down at JJ.

The raising player is incredible active since he eliminated player 7 and we are on the bubble. He raises about 50 % or more. He normaly uses a bet size of 3-4 bb. This time he leads out way more.

    My thoghts :

Does the bigger bet size mean strength or weakness? Any bet size would put the low stacks all in so it is aimed at me. He didn’t have a showdown since he went frency.

Do I have to risk a all in with JJ on the bubble ? In this special tournament with one more player leaving the game stops immediately. The payout is 6,20 $ and 22 ct for every 100 chips in stack. So should I take higher risks as chips have a bigger value ?

I folded but tanked a while. My decision was based on the three player to my right who where incredible low stacked and under enormous pressur. I ended up ITM with about 1700 chips.

What are your thoughts to this tournament problem ?

If you didn’t get paid out the $0.22/100 you have to fold basically 100% of hands here. With 3 stacks less than half yours you can’t afford do give up the equity. The chipleader is just in an amazing spot and can open 100% of hands here.

With the added $0.22 bonus, doubling up would be worth an additional $5.28 here (not including the added benefit of being the chipleader and getting to open/win most hands). Assuming you can fold to the money and get $11.48 ($6.20 + 0.22*2400) guaranteed or call and win ~$16.76 ($11.48 + 0.22*2400), you need the call to have an EV of > 68.5%. This would only be the case if villain is opening >50% of hands (in which case you’d have about 71% equity. Obviously there are some variables that are hard to project, but based on this you’re probably fine calling mathematically, but you’re increasing your variance for not much additional benefit at best. I would probably just fold into the money.

Please let me know if you disagree at all.

    Thanks!
