First post here, would like some feedback.
$1/$2 at local casino. Both opponent and I have similar stacks, about $350.
I have a little history with opponent, he is aggressive but not spewy. I think he sees too many flops, but plays pretty well post flop.
Opponent and one other player limp to me, I look down at QhQd, make it $15 in the cutoff. This was my standard raise with two limps in front of me.
Opponent calls, other limper folds. $31 in the pot.
Flop came Ac As 3h. We both check
Turn added a 10d. He checks again, and I decided to bet for value.
I bet $20. I really don’t like my sizing. I think it was too much for this board.
Anyhow, he check raises to $50. So a $30 raise into a $90 pot.
I’d be interested to see what you would choose to do next.

Say he has something like A8 suited. He limp calls pre-flop, flop comes AA3. He checks to see what you’re going to do, you check back (which is pretty standard on the AAX flop to try and get another A on board). Turn bring the 10 and counterfeits his kicker, so no jackpot if the Ace comes. He check-raises to build a pot and see if you have a better Ace. You can only call with your pocket pairs, and only raise with AK/AQ.
I probably fold here. There aren’t too many players at 1-2 that are going to raise here with anything but an ace. You could call, but you have to fold to a big river bet unless a Q comes.

Do you think villain is capable of making a move with KQs or QJs on this board texture? If you feel he is capable of making a move like this You can make a very player dependent call and reevaluate on the river.
I agree with John S though, most player types at this level rarely bluff on this board texture. You being the preflop raiser you should have a lot more Ax in your range than he does in his limp call range. The fact that he would check raise the turn on a relatively dry board tells me he has an A with a bad kicker and doesn’t want you drawing out on him.

I did find a fold here. I think at a higher level against a more thinking player, I may have called and re-evaluated on the river. But at this level, even if he is bluffing, I think I can pick a better spot. I knew I would face a large river bet, so I decided to just give up at this point with a minimal amount invested.
He later mentioned that he had A-4. He never showed, so can’t confirm this. But this would make sense for many $1/$2 players, to limp/call with this hand.
