1/3 NL I’m in late position. $10 straddle. I have KK and about $650 in my stack. Guy to my right smaller stack ~$400, any two cards and at any point, raises to $20 one person previously limped the straddle. I 3B to 50. Guy to my right is the only caller. He checks dark.
Flop:948 two heart, no heart in my hand.I bet $40 he calls. Turn is a heart and it goes check, cbeck, looking back I feel like I should have bet the turn. But I didn’t. Moving on.
River is an off suit Q. He bets $150. I tank for around a minute and call. Hear good call and he turns over 79.
Should I be folding this river? I felt like any flush he could have was probably 4B pre or betting turn. Wasn’t concerned about a straight

Pre-flop: THe $50 raise seems small, it gives both the limper and the raiser a really good price to call. I’d prefer to see a sizing of $70 especially against this player type.
Flop: I actually don’t like the down bet here. This flop is somewhat connected and you give a really good price to continue his draws. Something along the lines of 75% pot makes sense.
Turn: Check is good. Pot control though if you have the Kh I would like to see another bet but not mandatory.
River: The lead doesn’t make much sense unless he had JT with a heart. You beat all 1 pair hands and any missed straights.

Preflop: I agree that perhaps you’re 3-bet was a little light, but I suppose you got exactly what you wanted, pocket kings against a super loose player. Perfect.
Flop: I like the down bet here. Maybe not quite as low as you bet, as maybe $55-$65 would have been better. But Basically we have a big hand with a relatively safe flop. There are definitely some draws, but its a great opportunity to build the pot and extract value. So I’m good with it so far. I wouldn’t size up too much because we don’t want our player with his weak hand running off just yet… particularly if we think he caught top pair or second pair. But we do want to deny some value for draws or lesser pocket over pairs.Turn: I hate this check. Absolutely hate it. Loose player means I’m looking at 3 streets of value. So there’s money to extract, and to build the pot bigger so we get max value on the river. I would have like to see you continue with a 40-50% pot size bet.
River: The lead out from the loose player does make sense because he now thinks his top pair might be good. You showed weakness on the turn so he is going to lead out. Again, you 3-bet preflop so he should be cautious of an over pair, but he’s loose and will fire if he thinks he might be good. Good call on the river. You are only getting called by a better hand if you raise. Its a good pot and you got exactly what you wanted… a premium hand against a player who plays too many hands. You would have probably won more if you had bet the turn. If he checks on the river, then you know your Kings are good and go for complete value on the river bet.
