What kind of hands do you like to re-steal with and what positions do you use which hands? Stealing the blinds can usually be accomplished with almost any two cards against weaker/passive players but when re-stealing I feel like you need a hand with a little play-ability postflop. What hands do you use in the big blind, button, cutoff, etc.

    Suited connectors under a 9.
Reasoning – if you make a hefty 3 or 4 bet (not sure which re-steal level you meant) and you accidentally get called — pretty good chance they have suited paint or paired paint (QQ+&AK probably re-raises for a clear GG/NH fold). You don’t want them to be holding your outs to beat them. Also less chance to be dominated like AQ vs KQ. Wouldn’t you rather battle AQ with 87ss? Since the point is to solicit the pre-flop fold, you won’t be going to battle a large percentage of the time, if you chose the right player to re-steal from. You are around 60/40 – 65/35 in a situation like that versus 70/30 – 75/25 if you are dominated or in an overpair/underpair situation.

If you click the link below there is a 22 minute video series on the site called “Pre-flop Bluff Re-raising Strategy” and it’s definitely worth checking out. You’ll have to sign up but there’s a one week free trial so you can either cancel after that or pay $30/mo, which is one of the best values out there for a training site.

Here are the topics in the video series:

    – How Your Hole Cards Matter
    – Bluffing Pre-Flop With Position
    – Bluffing Pre-Flop Without Position
    – Attacking Weak Players With Bluffs
    – Avoiding Attacks By Opponents
