Last night I was playing 1/2 nl. The table had a few sticky players. One hand a player called me down to the river holding nines, when I had a set. Another was when I out kicked another players Ace. My thought looking back was that I didn’t get enough value. Should you bet more with sticky players, or play it on the safe side to win??

Hard to say without having a better appreciation of how the hands played out (starting stacks, number of players, betting action, etc). Detailed information on what your set was vs. the 9’s, for example would be helpful as well. Responses will differ if you flopped a set of deuces on a board that ran out 10 high.

When playing no limit, it’s obviously important to exploit every edge to its maximum potential.

As a general rule….I tend to bet my value hands a bit larger against those players I consider to be “sticky”.

    Good Luck at the tables.

thanks for the tip. I flopped a set of eights on a pretty dry board. 3k8 rainbow 2 q. no flushes got there. but will do to bet more in a situation like that,
