This is the sickest hand I have ever been in and if you hate people wallowing in their bad beats, this post isn’t for you. For me, sharing cooler and bad beats is therapeutic. I’m playing a 2-5 table. Pretty deep stacks and I have around 3k. So I look down at K,10s on the button. Utg raises to 40, Utg+1 calls, Hijack calls, I decided to go ahead and make the call and the BB calls as well. We got 5 ways to a pot. Flop is ok. QJ9 rainbow w/ 1 spade. At this point the BB bets 150. Followed by a raise from the Utg at 425. That bet is then met by shove from the utg+1 for 1.2k. Hijack calls off the rest of his chips who only had about 900 behind. I figure my best play is to go ahead and plow my chips in with the nuts so I shove the rest of my stack. The pot is the biggest I’ve seen in a 2-5 as it only gets bigger when the BB and Utg players call. We are now all in 5 ways after the flop with give or take 8k in the middle. I’ve got everyone covered and BB is next largest stack which is important to know. We decide to all flip our cards over. BB has set of 9s, UTG has set of Qs, utg+1 shows set of JJs and the hijack has the low end of a straight with 10,8. I of course have the flopped nuts and hoping to avoid a paired board which isn’t too hard considering everybody has everbody’s outs for the most part. Turn is a 2s which gives me a flush draw and the river is only a 9 giving our BB player quads to win the main and all the side pots. Sad day….I honestly wasn’t even mad.
That is insanely sick. Straight over straight over set over set over set. That doesn’t even sound real.
Wow, that is ridiculous. I just looked it up and you’re 62% to win. The next closest person is 11.75% with pocket Queens. Pocket 9’s is around 5%. Unlucky man. Interesting hand though.
