Up around $100 at this point. LAG getting out of hand but when nit called I slowed down. Was this a bad fold?

You were getting 3.3 to 1 when you folded, a little less than optimal for flush draws. The guy behind was probably going to call, so the odds were probably there to make the call. Then there are implied odds, especially with two opponents in the hand. When the guy behind shoves, you would no longer be getting correct odds, so it would have been a fold then, which would have sucked after sticking in the $30.
I don’t think the fold was too nitty if you had a read that the pot was likely to get raised. Short of that, you probably should have lost the thirty bucks.

As played tho I think I raise to $100-130 range. By doing that you then put the 8’s in a very tough/awkward spot as even if they are up against a flush draw they are likely just flipping a coin. LAG has any 2 there, tight caller between you is well.. tight, possibly folds better flush draw there to a raise? All you have to worry about is the small blind really.
09/30/2017 at 6:33 am #1593GabeC.Participant@Alex, thanks for your input. At the moment I thought about folding a little bit too quickly when I should’ve thought about 3 betting to $115 ish. This gives me control of the pot. At that point my SPR would be pretty low and I’ll be getting it in on most turns. My main issue at this stage in my poker career is building and protecting my bankroll. Obviously not a good way to think at the poker table but until I have more buyins under my belt I want to limit my variance. For that reason I probably shouldn’t play J6 suited from the button, huh? 🙈

09/30/2017 at 9:46 am #1596Alex DowParticipantYa I’d say so gabe, I totally understand the temptation of entering with those suited royal-rag combos. but it’s just not gonna be conducive to safely building your roll.

Fold = Correct (standard tight aggressive approach, low variance, best of the 3 options)
Raise = Doable (but this is a loose aggressive approach, requires a larger bank roll and really good post flop play. High variance.)
Call = Incorrect (worst of the 3 options. Too passive, and loose.)- This reply was modified 7 years, 1 month ago by Craig.
