Hey!
I played a couple of hands a bit differently than what I usually do.
Like in hand #1 i almost always 3-bet pre and in hand #2 I almost always allow this turn to go check-check vs. good regs that are not making betting mistakes and are always pot controlling with marginal made hands even on draw-heavy boards.I’m posting my lines to see whether you would like what I did or you do yourself take these lines sometimes. I’m just bouncing my ideas off you.
Hand #1
MGM 2/5 Detroit.
UTG opens $20($460~)(fishy likes to see flops, but tends to limp/call rarely ever opens)
UTG+1 calls ($1250+) (snuggy reg, we’ve been battling for years, but IMO very proud of his game, maybe too proud. He tends to target fishy players and not get involved vs other regs)
HJ calls ($2000+)(Brian from the YouTube DetroitPoker vlog- decent player, great hand reader, but always value-heavy and under bluffs obvious spots)
I’m on BTN with J♠️J❤️ I only call ($1460) (I’m perceived as a winning reg. In the session, I got caught 4-bet bluffing with QTs and had to call off a min-raise all-in vs. AK. My image is that my chips are in play and I’m a bit too aggressive maybe)
Pot is $80
Flop is: T♠️8♠️5❤️
UTG checks [and gives away that he’s disappointed with the flop].
UTG+1 bets $45
Brian folds.
I call. {*what do you think here?*}
Pot is $170
Turn is 6♦️
Villain checks
I think for 10 secs, then he says “I checked, it’s on you”
I tank for 20 more secs and bet $80 targeting 9T QT KT AT, flush draws, double combos. Although we block some obvious draws.
Villain calls
Pot is $310
River is 4♦️
Villain checks.
I tank bet $210
I chose the sizing to target all the T’s in his range because in my opinion 2 pair+ would lead river if they don’t check raise turn. This particular guy though doesn’t have check/raise bluffs on the river against me because he thinks that I’m a sticky player and would always call with better and fold worse.
Also, all draws missed, which is a big portion of his range, and there’s not small value to be had, other than specifically A♠️6♠️. So, I picked the size that I’d bluff with.
He calls.
And I won.Hand #2
UTG opens $15(covers) (local pro, very solid)
Folds to me in BB, I call with A❤️J♣️
($830)
Flop: J♠️9❤️3♦️
I check,he bets $30
I call.
Turn is 9♠️.(great card for me. I think this particular player, and most players, would not raise me with over pairs, other than maybe AA as he unblocks my bluffs, but even that is a bit wild).
I lead $75
He tank calls.
River is 4♣️
I bet $250 (I chose the sizing that targets QJ KJ AJ TT, all draws missed, so he’s folding a lot and I have all the flush and straight draws in my range, which I’m gonna bluff here. Also im rarely ever getting raised vs. UTG range on that board, sure I’m getting snapped by all over pairs [6 combos of QQ 6 combos of KK and 3 of AA])
He calls
I show & win he shows a J and mucksWhat do you think?
