Hey guys,
Kevin here. You may have seen some of my posts on here before and I hope you’ve enjoyed them. I consider myself a semi-professional player. I have a salaried job, but I play 20-ish hours per week and factor the income into my expenses. I grind the $1/$2 – $2/$5 live tables and $.5/$1 – $1/$2 online tables with the occasional $5/$10 live and $2/$4 online depending on how juicy the lineup is.
When I’m not at work I live and breathe poker. I’m partial to GTO style hand analysis as the basis of my strategy and love studying the theory of the game.
As so many before me, I’ve decided to grab a camera, download some editing software, and get into the VLOG game. You can check out my first episode here: https://youtu.be/nk4cD45yJa4.
That video ^^ is pretty standard vlog form with each hand analysis being mediumly detailed and mediumly rigorous. I don’t feel like the flow is exceptional.
I’m curious if you guys would prefer this alternate form:
12-15 minutes of normal vlog style footage (scenery, action shots, simpler story style hand histories, outtro, etc.) followed by a more intense 5-8 min clip at the end going into much more detail with range and theory analysis from ONE SPECIFIC HAND that i talk about in the first part of the vlog. This could be as involved as using Flopzilla, Equity Calculation, or even literally segmenting out our entire range into a balanced strategy just as we would if we were studying on our own.
My thought is that this style would efficiently segment the lifestyle footage and the enjoyable hand history stories that need a good flow to them with some more advanced poker concepts that some, but not all, viewers would appreciate. What do you guys think?
