    Hello everyone,
I decided to play a WSOP Circuit event this past weekend, I play a hand where the blinds were 400/800 the reenter was still allowed and I wanted to ask a question about the hand that I feel I played poorly.

So the hand started out with a player that had been very loose player opening ALLIn with 6,200 in chips there were 3 folds and I show up AhQh (I have15,300 in chips). This is where I would like to ask the question, is it better to just call and see if anyone else comes along or ship it and try to get everyone else out of the pot?

Hi James, sitting with 19bb you should want to isolate the player shoving and re-shove here almost always. I guess it could change slightly based on your position and remaining player’s stack sizes, but I would assume that wouldn’t matter much here.

Yeah, that is what I did, the BB woke up with AA and the UTG raiser had QTo. I did lose here, but I that it was the correct play. Thank you for the reminder.

I don’t like the re-shove and isolation. First you are in middle position so there’s still plenty of action to come. Also, you just called a 8x raise… so a shove and a call is only going to get another call with a premium hand. Again, we don’t know the players or stacks after you, but I only like the reshove with QQ-AA and AK (would should block AA or KK). And if you get another caller at 6200 or another person shoves, I think its clear you are behind. Essentially you put your tournament at risk with A-Q pre-flop with another 4-5 players to act.
Now I suppose one could argue that with only 20x left, you might shove pre-flop anyway. But I try not to put my tournament at jeopardy with so many callers left to act. So I could certainly make a good argument for reshoving there to keep any sketchy hand calling and hitting… but the call said I have a good hand, so in my opinion, shoving didn’t give you any better value… just took on more risk as you are now risking getting called by a better hand.
