Alex,
Was this live or online? I think your fold is fine. I generally want to see proof that a villain can or will make a move before I start calling down. Yes you are ahead of some hands but also crushed by some and vulnerable against others. We bet flop and turn to get value out of worse Qx hands but now that he raised us I don’t mind getting away until we have further evidence of him getting out of line.

The key factor in my opinion is your mental state. If you start playing hands you shouldn’t just because your bored then you should just quit the session early. To me it’s just part of the game and can present opportunities. Just think if you are card dead for a long time you probably look like a super NIT to the rest of the table. Use your image to your advantage.
Best of luck!

One thing to consider if you have been playing really tight and you think opponents are getting out of line with their 3 bets go ahead and mix in a 4 bet here and there. If you are right and they are 3 betting light and your image is super tight this should pick up the pot for you. Try this maybe once a session as a bluff. That being said it’s my opinion in low limit live that you aren’t going to make money by getting people to fold. Money is made by value betting as nobody likes to fold.
Let us know what adjustments you make and how it works out!

I think people tend to over adjust to a 6 max event trying to be more aggressive. You are going to play more hands by default with less players at the table. You don’t need to force yourself to play more hands. Just pretend the first 3 guys folded at a normal 9 max table every hand and play it accordingly from there!I think when we try to adjust our games too much it does more harm than anything. You should develop more reads/dynamics with the other players at the table since you will be involved in more hands so really pay attention.
Best of luck, let us know how it goes!

Great illustration of a couple things here. #1 Why playing out of position sucks and #2 Why unraised pots suck.
I like to lead out on this flop because we can get value from flush draws, open enders, gutters, one pair hands 5x, 8x and even some limped Ax hands. Also some pocket pairs will call a street like 66,77,99. So there are plenty of combos out there we can get value from with a bet.
But what happens on the turn? The board pairs the 8 and now we lose to all the 8x hands, the Ax hands and we will get no action from any 5x hands nor the pocket pairs. That ship has sailed. Flush draws would have bet the flop so they are gone as well. So what are we targeting for value with our turn bet? I think I would go into check mode now and see what develops. Maybe call the turn for a reasonable bet and then check/decide river.
As far as bet sizing on the flop I would bet big 450+. Like we discussed you will get action from Ax, and flush draws and straight draws so get as much as you can.
My thoughts at least
