this is very very true.
for sure Erika has it on the spot.
See, i want to take the game serious and I want to be full time. I will be. BUT, I will always make sure to throw in a few FUN days.
Poker, if this becomes a full time job couldn’t you treat it like any other full time Job? you’d want to be happy and make money right?
The days when I do a “quick” stop or what I call “speed poker” are just days when I have extra money to play with and days when I NEED to just lay back and have a good time.
BUT it is very dangerous as Erika stated, don’t pick up bad habits. Also, don’t get me wrong, even the days that I am playing with the intention of having fun I am still “thinking” of spots and pot odds and playing the players. The difference is I’m looser about it and I’m showing it, its a really good strategy.
I come to the table with a small buy in and I pretty much shove a weak hand. with the intention to buy back in and play tighter, they will mark me as a fish when all along it’s just bait and switch!
