I try to do the same thing whether I’m bluffing or not. I like to look at people but instead of looking them in the eye and having some kind of mind game staring contest, I’ll look at them from the neck down. Across the table looking at someone’s neck/mouth has the same posture as looking at the face, mostly I’m watching their hands. Hands will usually tell you if someone wants to play or fold or is going to muck after a river bet.

He’s calling 15$ to win 90$ in the pot 105 if the big blind calls. I’ve seen plenty of people call with those kinds of odds. Plus it makes his hand easy to play, hit good cards or fold. Personally I think your hand is too strong to fold on the turn unless you’re convinced he only does this with sets and I think most people would check raise with their sets since he’s got no reason to think you won’t bet.
I think he had a combo draw and was trying to set his own price to get to the river. Basically if he’s willing to call a 120$ bet from you, why not take the lead and give himself a chance to win when you fold. If he thinks you’ve got AK or AQ and just c-bet because everyone c-bets. Then he could be ahead with his pair and he’s got a good idea of what cards are bad for him and can check fold if he wants and if you just call the turn he’s got a good chance of getting to showdown without another bet being made.Just my opinion. I could be way wrong.

I’m basically a break even player with a day job and family. No one in my circle of friends play so I pretty much learn on my own.

I made a decent run busted around 20 something place out of 90 some entrants. A few second best hands and a couple bad bluffs. The MTT’s at my casino are 20 min levels so you kind of need to steadily build your stack or the blinds catch up quick.
06/24/2017 at 10:19 am #561KevinParticipantWhat was his stack size?
06/24/2017 at 7:20 am #554KevinParticipantSeems like a lot of bad calls from the SB that ended up with a perfect river. Maybe a bigger turn bet would have got a fold, but you don’t really want him to fold. 75% of the time he’s going to miss that river. It’s a crap run out but if he keeps playing 63 OOP against guys who are betting and raising you’ll get his money.
Or, idk what I’m talking about. Either way good luck out there.
