Im currently in the transition from 1/2 to 2/5. I have been playing 1/2 live for about 2 years and have been a consistently profitable player for the last year. I am not a pro by any means. I have a career but use poker as a secondary income. My bankroll is at $9276 after playing an average of 10 hours of poker per week.
I live in Iowa so games are not as frequent. 1/2 games happen at my local casino every evening except Monday and Wednesday which are the PLO and 2/5 night’s respectively.
My transition has been pretty straight forward since 2/5 is only offered once a week. I play 2/5 on Wednesdays, otherwise im playing 1/2.
Jumping over to the 2/5 game has been challenging. I have had a tough time playing my normal game and I feel like I’m psyching myself out by thinking these guys are so much better than me. Ive played maybe 5 sessions of 2/5 so far with more loss than profit; down $465 over my last 3 three sessions. My 1/2 game is making up for my losses but im still trying to figure out how to relax and play my normal game at the 2/5 table.
