Thanks for the response Luong, I definitely considered check raising, and thought about it on the flop and the turn, but for some reason I can’t explain, I didn’t.
For reference, Villain covered me in the hand, so it’s pretty deep.
The river is where I went off the rails a bit, deciding to lead to get value from his middling K’s, which were hands that I didn’t think were very likely as he probably raises many kings on the button.
Given that it’s a protected pot, I didn’t think he was likely to bluff me, that being said I couldn’t find the fold button in-game. I called and he had A4o, which surprised me given his limp-call pre-flop. Villain managed to hit a miracle flop to get a lot of chips from me. I actually think the presence of the short stack saved from losing a lot more, as I definitely take more of a lead, lead, lead and call line on the hand otherwise.
