This one is interesting for sure. I was in a somewhat similar situation recently in 1/3. You may have lost some value but I understand why you played it the way you did. Maybe you lost some value. Had you bet 1/3-1/2 pot on the turn you’re getting called by 87 in sb, and probably a call with the flush draw priced in. Probably a check, check on river to you again (doubtful the MP would bluff the river at this point). Hard to say if the sb with 87 would call or re-raise at this point. Would you fold to a river shove in this instance? I think it’s hard to lay down trips here, but his 6k stack needs to be considered.

🙂
if he hit a set, so be it. He’s trying to talk you out of a call, I think.01/30/2020 at 10:47 am #4710ToddParticipantso, button folded preflop?
01/24/2020 at 7:03 am #4689ToddParticipantHard to put him on clubs as well, so I think a raise is in order (450/475). If the board paired, I think I would flat call for protection. Interesting 3bet to 80 preflop. I would have flat called, but the flop was favorable for you.
01/14/2020 at 2:23 pm #4671ToddParticipantI misplayed the flop for sure. I was checking just to mix it up a bit. Perhaps a check/raise may have taken it down in hindsight. I like your advice of the c-bet of 25/30 and the way to continue.
12/31/2019 at 11:24 am #4651ToddParticipantDidn’t have much of a read on him since he sat down 15 mins prior. He seemed confident after staring him down. I felt at best it was a coin flip for 1/3 of my stack. I think he was strong…put him on AA/KK. maybe QQ. Would he shove against the table chip leader with JJ/TT/AQ/KJ after just sitting down at the table?…I don’t think so.
I folded AK. Thought it was the right play12/22/2019 at 8:09 am #4641ToddParticipantThere is never a situation to fold to the 170 imo
10/09/2019 at 11:58 am #4546ToddParticipant1 – you got your money in when you were ahead. You had a good read and put him on the flush and he hit it. Bad outcome, but I don’t think your play was bad. He made a terrible near-pot-size call on the flop with nothing. Had you put him on an A and you went all in after the turn, then that’s overplaying it. Don’t beat yourself up over this one.
2 – You could fold this hand. But when you didn’t, I don’t think your play is bad here. Sounds like even had you gone all in on the flop, you probably would have gotten called by the AcTc anyways. You hit your straight and had the strt-flush draw so you weren’t going anywhere either. Another bad outcome.keep grinding

03/28/2019 at 9:16 am #4012ToddParticipantI’ve only played at MGM, The Venetian, and The Bellagio. MGM had a high-hand payout every 30 mins when I was there and I ended up winning one for like $250. I believe the Venetian also has a high hand payout, but the Bellagio does not. Others can correct me if I’m wrong…it’s been over a year since I was in Vegas. The Bellagio is cool because you will definitely see some high profile pros playing – Doyle Brunson, Justin Bonomo, and actor James Woods were playing when I was there.
