    1/3 caesars palace 300 eff:
UTG limps, CO limps, HERO B opens 12, BB and CO call POT (39). FLOP: AcQhTh x to HERO and we bet 12 both call POT (75). Turn: 5s x to HERO and we bet 39 both fold.

What can I do here? I have the board locked down almost completely and want to build the pot. I obviously bet too much here… I thought I wanted to charge for straight draws but now that I think about it my opponents have so few outs against me should I just check here or make another small bet? I have a hard time with these situations where I rarely make any profit from them or they hit a miracle card on the river and I get felted. Is it just the way it is or can I do something to maximize value?

Not much you can do: either they have something or they don’t. Locking up dead money is always a good thing.
