ParticipantI’m not a math guy but I think I disagree with the above; you actually don’t want to fold out V1 because you want better odds for your draws. It’s pretty unlikely that you’re ahead in this spot facing a bet, raise, then a reraise, and if you’re going to need to hit your draw then you want more money in the middle for when you do.
Vs KK and Jh9d you have 34%. If you somehow fold out V1 you improve to 36% but with way less money in the middle.
And yeah you probably gave that guy the biggest tip he’s gotten in a few months but generosity is nice. It’ll affect your winrate if you make a habit out of it (sorry dealers).

ParticipantI play it exactly the same except my avatar would look much more annoyed than yours does in the replayer.

ParticipantPreflop is pretty loose, but whatever. I would cbet a little bigger since people aren’t folding a K or flush draw for any price and are folding a lot of other hands regardless. I would probably flat his minraise to keep ranges wide… often people “raise to see where they’re at” and a 3b on the flop narrows his continuing range to flush draws and 4x. You might charge flush draws but even that has decent equity and you fold out a lot of the rest of his range.
As played, I dunno, it’s hard to make a pair, much less trips, and if you’ve seen him overplay hands already, call and hold vs flush draws or get there vs A4 45 etc. You don’t block any flush draws and he “never” has KK so I’m calling.

ParticipantPeeling in position is fine HU, since there are so many cards that improve your equity (K, J, lots of straight draw cards, plus backdoor second nut flush draw). You can barrel turn clubs and river bricks having the Kc, as well as good Ax hands on turn A’s
All that said, folding can’t be too bad since you have K high and she bet almost full pot.

ParticipantI definitely played the lowest stakes way too long before starting to move up. There’s an adjustment period for sure but like Brad said, there’s no reason that you can’t move back down, which you almost certainly will want to do if either the 2/5 game isn’t that great at some point, or the first effort doesn’t go well. But as others have said, 2/5 isn’t anything to be afraid of, as long as you can withstand a loss of a couple buyins and rebuild that at 1/3 or via a job. And yes Brad will cover your 2/5 losses, this is a very friendly forum.
