    Best thing i ever did was spend all my time focusing on pre-flop. By and large the best way to ensure you can grab a skill advantage is to be starting with a good strategy so post flop decisions are much more profitable. It worked really well for me.

    I think you reasoning is sound but at the end of the day it’s really hard to imagine a live 1-3 villain taking a line like this with a value hand. If you knew the villain was able to balance with some big hands then i think you would have to fold. Very cool hand that highlights the weird parts of live play.

    If he has any light 4-bets you are in decent shape to call pre flop. This seems pretty reasonable given your description. Probably around 40% equity with position.
    Bluffing the flop seems dumb since he would check boards he has crushed (AK, AA, KK). calling the flop and river seems mandatory given he has more AK than AA and KK.
    Feels like this was just a set up that he played well to check on the flop.
    Sucks.
